Man shot dead in South Loop

CHICAGO -- A man was fatally shot Sunday morning in the city's South Loop neighborhood.

About 10:05am, a 45-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head was discovered in an alley in the 1800-block of South Michigan Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness said they heard an argument and then a single shot fired, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the fatality, but did not provide additional details Sunday morning.
