CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two men were shot, one fatally, on Chicago's South Side Thursday morning.
Police responded to a report of two people wounded in a shooting in the 5500-block of South Perry Avenue in the city's Englewood neighborhood just after 4:55 a.m.
Officers found a 48-year-old man who had been shot in the mouth. He died at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity.
They also found a 35-year-old man who had been shot in the shoulder. He was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Police said a preliminary investigation shows the men may have been the victims of a robbery, but that has not been confirmed.
Area Central detectives are investigating the shooting. No one is in custody.
