Cubs beat Rockies 7-5, snap four-game losing streak

The Cubs snapped a four-game losing streak to conclude their second-straight winning homestand at 6-4, beating the Colorado Rockies 7-5 on Sunday.

The Cubs improved to 13-6 in their last 19 games at Wrigley Field. They have hit 36 home runs in their last 20 home games. They have hit a season-high tying four homers (third time), and improved to 10-1 when hitting three or more homers.

The club’s 12 hits were its most since 14 hits, May 21 vs. Milwaukee. Russell and Schwarber connected for the Cubs first back-to-back home runs this season. Koji Uehara (2.0 IP) needed just 19 pitches to toss 2.0 perfect innings, his first outing of 2.0 innings since July 24, 2015 vs. Detroit.

Kris Bryant (1-for-3, R, BB) scored his team-high 40th run of the season, while Anthony Rizzo (1-for-4, 2B, RBI, R) batted .364 (12-for-33) with four doubles, a homer, eight runs scored, seven RBI and 10 walks on the 10-game homestand.
